Style Love # 11-J.Lo

Haven’t we all loved Ms. J.Lo, Jennifer Lopez since the P.Diddy days? (Puffy then) The big hoops, bandanas, midriff baring outfits, it’s all perfect lets be honest. Plus I don’t think I’ll ever forget that she’s just from the block.

I think she’s always had a great sense of style. She can rock it at the Oscars, or at the gym, either way she always seems to look put together. Here are some of my most recent fav’s.

Introducing….Mr. Robot Jewelry Guy

I was given something so amazing it’s hard to even describe. Well, I guess not too hard…a Robot Jewelry holder. My talented friend Mike Potter made this guy for me after conversation about a silly inside joke he has with mutual friends. He previously had made himself a robot toothbrush holder which is pretty sweet. After I announced that a robot jewelry case/holder would be equally awesome, he and his fiance Jess surprised me with this awesome one of a kind gift.

As you can see he is very distinguished with his spectacle and Mr. Pringles liks appearance. And he has lots of storage space. Two drawers for holding bracelets, pins, etc.

Two arms and hands to hold rings and necklaces.

And best of all, the head. Nothing gross in there, just more space to store lots of jewelry.

Aren’t you in love? Quirky, fun, and useful. Mr. Robot was tired after his photo shoot so here he is again relaxing out.

Come on, let’s dress up.

Today I was blog perusing as usual and was looking over Allyson in Wonderland and started reading her post “Liking Fashion Doesn’t Mean I’m Vain”. First off, good title and true story. Then as I started reading I was like Yes! This is awesome! I agree with the entire post, but the first part in particular, I literally I was screaming in my head, “thank you”!

She is basically saying that if you like to dress up, you shouldn’t be looked at like a freak or a snob. There is nothing wrong with wanting to take care of yourself and look your  best. Aside from the whole women aren’t are good as men thing, I often watch Mad Men and wish I could have lived during that time. The women put such effort into their appearance. And while it may not have always been for the most feminist of reasons, they looked good-all the time. Recently my husband and I have purposely tried to go to restaurants or museums where you have to dress spiffier. It’s fun, and people should do it on a more regular basis.

Hey I like my stretch pants and comfy pj pants as much as the next person and if you’re a casual gal then that’s ok. But if you are someone who likes to put a little extra effort in every day, then I say good for you. Nothing wrong with a little more Mad Men in our lives.

Below are some of my fav places to find casual and dressier items. Go crazy, look pretty.

Zara

Topshop

H&M

Gap

Asos

Modcloth

Met Gala 2012

Last night there were so many beauteous dresses on the red carpet. It’s such a fun night where you can see some crazy outrageous looks. There were lots and lots that I loved. I think my most favorites were Jessica Stam, Rhianna, Rooney Mara, Beyonce, Ginnifer Goodwin & Jessica Alba. Big props to Florence Welch for that out of control Alexander McQueen dress. So over the top and perfect for the night.

It’s Big Hat Day

Today we celebrate two very different events, Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. Both of which you get to wear giant hats if you wish to do so. Here are some Derby hats to feist your eyes on before the consumption of cerveza’s and Mint Julip’s begin.

A little Nail Style

Clothes and shoes are  of course a way to express yourself and your individuality. Why not take it one step further and use nail polish to tell people how cool you are. I’ve been loving the paint your index finger a different color trend and am now in love with ombre nails as well. I always have a hard time deciding on what color I want. It’s a big commitment. Nails take time so you definitely don’t want to pick a color you’ll be sick of the next day. So, why not choose all of them and get the ombre effect on your nails. Go from light to dark in ever shade of the rainbow. So much fun. Now I know this requires a lot of polish purchases, so here is an all in one solution. Four different colors to choose from, such an awesome idea. I’ll take all four thank you! Find them here.

Celebrity Break

Yes we all know I read US Weekly, love the celebs. Instyle.com does a really great look of the day feature which is really fun. They basically hand pick the best red carpet looks of the day/week/month. So I thought I would share some of my recent fav’s. Pretty obsessed with all of these.
